FAQ
-
While both ceilidhs and reels involve lively Scottish music and dancing, ceilidh dancing is more beginner-friendly and social, featuring various dances with a caller (John Carver) always guiding the steps. Reeling, on the other hand, focuses on specific, faster dances with set formations, requiring more experience and knowledge of the steps. Both celebrate Scottish culture, but ceilidh offers a more inclusive and fun-focused experience for all levels.
-
Absolutely! Ceilidhs are all about inclusivity and having fun, regardless of who you come with. We actually encourage dancing with different partners throughout the night, so coming alone gives you the chance to meet new people and experience the true social spirit of the ceilidh. Our caller will guide you through each dance, ensuring everyone feels comfortable and included, no matter their experience level. So go ahead, grab your dancing shoes and come join the fun on your own! You'll be amazed at how quickly you make new friends and create lasting memories.
-
Absolutely not! Whether you're a seasoned dancer or have two left feet, you're welcome at our ceilidh! We designed this event to be open to everyone, regardless of experience. Our expert caller, John Carver, will be there to guide you through each dance step-by-step, making it easy to follow along and have fun. Think of it as learning a fun new party trick while getting some exercise and meeting new people! We even encourage dancing with different partners throughout the night, so you'll have plenty of opportunities to pick up the steps as you go. So come with an open mind, a willingness to try something new, and get ready to dance the night away!
